Nigeria Among ‘High-risk’ Nations to Pay £3,000 Cash Bond for UK Visit
According to a Sunday Times report, visitors from Nigeria to
the United Kingdom
may be forced to pay a hefty cash bond of £3,000
starting from November, before they can enter the UK. The report stated
that the move will target at least five other African and Asian
countries including Ghana, Pakistan, India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.
The scheme which will initially target hundreds of visitors will be
extended to several thousands in the near future. The move will also
make tourists aged 18 and above to pay the cash bond for a 6-month visit
visa which will be forfeited once they overstayed their visit in Great
Britain.
